Talk the Sale

This is an ultimate event to test sales and negotiation skills of the participants and to test the team’s ability to conceive, substantiate and sell a product. The event will test the team’s ability to communicate, convey their idea and negotiate effectively; basically every skill that makes one a great salesperson.


  • The members of teams can be from different institutes.
  • A student cannot be part of more than one teams.
  • All decisions in matters of eligibility, authenticity, and final judgments will be with Confluence team.
  • The format and rules of events are subject to change before the start of the event
  • This event is open to all the students
  • Students from across specializations are eligible for participation.
  • A team can consist of students from different batches.
  • There is no limit to the number of teams participating from an institute.
  • Teams selected for the final round will be partially reimbursed for travel.
  • Participation in all the rounds is necessary to claim any prize.


  • Registration start date: 15th Oct
  • Registration end date: 23rd Oct
  • First-round quiz date: 23rd Oct
  • First-round result declaration date: 30th Oct
  • Second round starts 3rd Nov
  • Second round ppt submission: 10th Nov
  • Second-round result declaration: on or before 15th Nov
  • Final round – During Confluence 2016


Round 1

This will be an objective-type quiz on dare2compete.
This is an online elimination round.
The teams will be judged on the basis of No of questions attempted correctly.
The quiz will contain 25 questions ranging from easy to difficult level and each questions will be allocated point according to their difficulty level.

Round 2

In the second round, the teams will be given 3 products, out of which they have to select any one product and they need to make a sales pitch for the product that they had selected. The sales pitch can be a PPT (not exceeding 3 content slides). The submissions need to be made to a15kamalinis@iima.ac.in

Final Round

In the third round, the teams need to make a sales strategy for the product that they had selected and present to the judges who would be acting as business executives or clients. This will be followed by an extensive negotiation as part of the sale.
